Information About the Drayer Physical Therapy Institute
The Drayer Physical Therapy Institute is only six years old, but in that time has grown from leaps and bounds from one Pennsylvania location to 39 different centers in 7 states. This institute is headquartered in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. Recognized as one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania, the institute values their employees and strives to create a positive and supportive work environment. As outlined on their website, Drayer feels the best way to give their patients the finest care is by nurturing the therapists they employ.
This institute not only employs physical therapists to work at their headquarters and various centers, they also send therapists to locations around the world on medical missions. Drayer has become partners with a coalition in Northern Virginia to help fund a physical therapy school in Bouqueronne, Haiti. Not only that, but Drayer employees have served in the hospital there and been sent to various other locations on missions of medical service to those less fortunate. These are opportunities that not only help make the world a better place but give physical therapists valuable real world experience in a challenging environment.
Every year, Drayer holds a national conference. The 2008 conference was held in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The focus for the conference was sports medicine and rehabilitation. The annual conference brings together professionals in the industry of physical therapy including doctors, physical therapists, PT assistants, vendors of supplies and equipment, students, employers and more. The conferences are not only a great way to network in the career field but also to advance in learning.
One thing both clients and employees of this facility should know is that they support continuing education. Drayer Physical Therapy Institute has an in-house educational program with monthly courses which are conducted at the corporate conference center. Employees of Drayer are required to take two courses each year, but are encouraged to take more than two. These courses teach Drayer therapists new strategies and keep them up to date on new innovations while reiterating what they learned in college. Whether you plan to visit Drayer as a patient in need of therapy or a professional therapist in need of employment, you'll find this company has a lot to offer.
